Data Protection

We do not request or store any information about you during your use of this website unless you choose to make a booking with us.  Our bookings and credit card handling is done securely by our partners FreeToBook(FTB) via the “Book Now” links on our pages.  To make a booking and to allow us to maintain appropriate financial and administrative records you will be asked for personal details such as name, address, telephone numbers, email address and credit card details during the booking process.  This information is stored on secure servers by FTB and confirmation of your booking is passed to us by email in a similar format to that  sent direct to you by FTB.  Your credit card details are NOT sent to us, we have to log in to the FTB servers to activate your deposit payment.  The only details we maintain are those which you supplied at the time of booking, on your registration form or in subsequent correspondence with us.  We do not supplement those with further notes or information, stored either electronically or on paper, during or after your stay.

Your information is stored for administrative, financial and legislative purposes only – we do not use your details to contact you except in respect of your specific booking with us.  Once we have your reservation details they are stored electronically and, until your check-out date, on paper at Torlinnhe as well as electronically at FTB.  We will use your email address to confirm your booking and send you useful information about the restaurants in the area, our cancellation policy and our breakfast menus.   You may also receive an automated email from FTB suggesting you post a review of your stay.  Please feel to review us there or preferably on TripAdvisor but we will not pass your details to any third party for the purposes of soliciting reviews.

If you supply us with any information relating to other individuals (for example in respect of a booking by you)  you will be deemed to have obtained their agreement/permission to this information being given to us.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. We take all reasonable precautions to ensure that details relating to you are kept secure in accordance with the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Unless we are negligent in exercising our responsibilities then we shall not be held liable for unauthorised access to information supplied by you.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or we are required by law to do so.

If you wish to see any information that we hold about you just contact us by email, telephone or post and we would be pleased to provide you with copies of everything we have.  If you believe that anything is incorrect or incomplete, please let us know us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.  We cannot delete all information that we have about you as we must maintain detailed records of our business for audit, taxation and other legislative purposes.  However, if you request us to do so we will happily delete as much as possible including email addresses and other contact details.
