Picturesquely situated, Castle Stalker can be best viewed from Castle Stalker View Café. The castle was a stronghold of the Stewarts of Appin for many years with King James IV making frequent visits around the end of the 15th Century. The castle passed into the hands of the Campbells as a result of a drunken wager. You might recognise it as Castle Aaaaaaaargh from Monty Python’s cult classic The Holy Grail. The castle is now a private home but is occasionally open to the public. The café serves fabulous home-made food using the best of Scottish produce including gourmet burgers. Great gifts in the gift shop too.
